I'm The Captain Now

I'm The Captain Now meme generator

How this meme works

A man gestures calmly and declares he is in charge, which is funny when someone suddenly takes over a situation, often in a small or unearned way. The calm, confident delivery contrasts with the mundane takeover being described.

When to use it

Use it when someone or something takes control of a situation, a role, or a shared resource, especially in a petty everyday way.

Where this meme comes from

The line comes from the 2013 film Captain Phillips, in which a Somali pirate played by Barkhad Abdi tells Tom Hanks's character 'Look at me. I'm the captain now.' The scene spread widely as a meme about someone abruptly taking control.
